LTCF in Bucks County - references
I'm going to apply for a LTCF. Since I'm a recent transplant from NJ, I prefer to use NJ references. Does anyway know whether my references have to be PA residents.
Also, I'm wondering if the sheriff's office contacts my local police before or after issuing.
I appreciate any help you guys can give me on this.Love your country - Fear your government

Re: LTCF in Bucks County - references
Donnelly also does not contact references...
Unlike some other counties, I've never seen anywhere that Bucks "requires" references to be residents of anywhere particular.

Re: LTCF in Bucks County - references
Don't know about Bucks but for what its worth in York Co. all of my references were from MD. No problems and none of them were even contacted, same goes for my wife when she recently got hers.

Re: LTCF in Bucks County - references
I used one from Boston, and one from D.C. Neither got called, but I got a hell of a lecture from my friend in D.C. about buying a gun when I told her I was doing it. Damn lib. Still love her though.

So what's up with the thumbs down? It appears Bucks follows the law as intended.

Re: LTCF in Bucks County - references
I'd almost support the thumbs down on the ground that they actually don't check the references, even though they make you go to the trouble of putting them down.
It can be a pain in the ass (especially if you didn't show up prepared to put down references), and honestly, if an applicant seriously can't find two people who will say he's NOT FLIPPING CRAZY, well that falls into the category of "things that make you go 'hmm'".Almost a LIB .... ertarian

Re: LTCF in Bucks County - references
i live in bucks,,, just list some friends names, donnelly does not check references, they do the basic backround check, had my permit in 4 days, he is very "generous" when issuing permits, very thankful for the easy application process, hats off to donnelly...
