    Default Regent 1911-A1?

    Anyone know anything about these?

Handled one today, shitty trigger, but it is an all metal 1911, and the $ is super low..

All I know is that they are made in Turkey, a country that supports ideals that I do not.

    But anyway,
A quick internet search came up with mixed opinions and range reports, so I guess it's a love/hate gun.
The common opinion that I came away with is that they are decent for the money, but may need some tweaking.
Average price seems to fall between $450 and $500, dealer being $400.

Someone suggested an Armscor/Rock Island on one of the search threads I found, I had one in the Officers size and it was a nice little gun for the money. Might be worth a look.

Like I said, shitty trigger, and slide release, 2 hands, it is just out of the box, though, not cleaned, or handled, so....
$460, is tempting,... Nothing like my Kimber, though.

Another in that price point to consider is the Rock Island or Citadel tactical. Both are great to build off of, not from the factory, and have a 70 series trigger (awesome)

I found both triggers to be terrible to me so the triggers are on a scale to me.. The Glock was a crisper suck and the XD was a more mushy suck. They are in the same family, SR9 (heavy suck), Glock (crisp heavy suck), XD( lighter mushy suck), M&P(heavy mushy suck).

for that price, you're probably better off looking at any Armscor/Rock Island Armory 1911s. another company to look at is Firestorm; they used to make crap, but have been making quality guns for a while, including 1911s.

for $100 more, you can get the GI Expert from ParaOrdnance.

I ordered one in Feb., not really interested in buying myself, just wanted opinions, if some asks about it.

I have the Para and another Kimber on order, and 2 Sig's on lay-away.....

American Classic II or Firestorm by Metro Arms gets good reviews. The Firestorm Deluxe looks good . I handled one at the gunshop in Emmitsburg Md. Saturday $439.
