Default Magazines for Stoeger/Beretta Cougar 8000

Does anyone know where I can get good aftermarket mags? Do mags for other Beretta models work?

The magazines for the Beretta Cougar work. Check Beretta's site. I picked them up for $20. They offer free shipping every once in a while. I also saw them in the CDNN catalog for about the same price. You can pick up a 10 round mag for about $14.

The Cougar is a fantastic gun at a great price!

Ditto. CDNN always has 'em. I think someone here had them in the classifieds a few months ago...

Actually just ordered two from there. 20 bucks apiece for factory 15 rounders.

I was hoping to find a decent aftermarket one (e.g. Meg Gar) with a bit more of a slick finish, since the factory mags have a pretty coarse surface and don't slide in and out as nicely as I'd like.

Is there anything I can do about that?

I don't have that issue. Mine are pretty slick.

Interesting. Well, hopefully my new ones will be better.

I wonder if there's anything I can put on them to slick them up a bit.

Mine are quite smooth. I was just shooting this afternoon. No issues inserting or ejecting mags.
