Well, since it looks like rain for Monday I will probably be carrying my Ruger Super Redhawk in .44mag with handloaded 300gr XTP's.

If not that, then I will be carrying my trusty Win 70 .30/06 with handloaded 165gr Hornady BTSP's.

Remington 760 Gamemaster in .30-06 with Rem 180gr PSPs.

I almost won a .444 Marlin lever gun last week, which would've been nice for bear. Or a .300 Ultra Mag...

    GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

For non rainy days, a Savage 99 in 358 Win. Rainy days will see the SS/syn Tikka T3 in 7mm-08. I haven't completely settled on a load but most likely will be using 139 gr Hornady's, maybe 145 Speers or 154 Hornady's.

But I won't be going this year since I had double knee surgery Oct 14th. So please post some stories whether you got one or not.

    Thanks,

    Dale

Depends on which site I'm gonna hunt.

For the more open areas or rain, I'll take my Remington 770 .30-06 w/ 165 grain ammo. It's ugly and cheap but, surprisingly reliable.

For thicker woods/laurel thickets, I'll take my Henrys Big Boy .44 magnum w/ 240 grain ammo.

And, as always, my Uberti Colt SAA clone in .45 LC for backup.

Reproduction 17th century French trade knife just 'cuz it's cool.

Rem. Mountain rifle 270 with Sierra 130 gr SBT or the 760 in 6mm with 85 gr Partitions.
Every man is my superior in that I may learn from him.
