Default Can anyone identify this old bolt action .22?

This rifle was in my parents house when they bought it 13 or so years ago and it was given to me about a month ago when I moved away from Philly. The barrel is rusty and it is missing the front sight but all moving parts seem to work and move freely.
I do not know how to embed pics in my post so I am attaching one. Can anyone identify this rifle? I am curious as to who made it and just how old it may be.

    Thanks

are there any markings on it on the top of the barrel just before the bolt?
Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets.

looks a hell of a lot alike this one

    which is
JC Higgins Model 103.18 .22 cal bolt rifle. This rifle was distributed by Sears and Roebuck Co. basically a clone of the Marlin model 100

worth about $50 - $100 give or take a bit.

id say look it up online, get it cleaned up a bit, find a front sight, and enjoy it. it will be a cheap thrill to shoot. im still sad that i sold off my old Stevens 416 bolt rifle.

It sure does. Thanks. I was thinking about seeing what it would cost to put a front sight on it and using it as a plinker.

That looks a lot like a Winchester mod 37 I have. Does it require manual cocking by pulling back the firing pin on the back of the bolt?

Could be a Winchester 67. I've also seen a Springfield 69 I think. All basically the same gun.

It does require manual cocking. And it does resemble the rifle DCChris posted as well.

My bad, mine is also a Winchester 67. I've got it from my dad so has been around since the 50s I think. The barrel is clearly marked Winchester Model 67 made in new Haven Conn, but has no serial number. Also marked 22 S,L, OR LR. One of the interesting things about this rifle is if you take off the barrel (one bolt on the bottom of the rifle) the trigger pivot is a pin through the stock. You can see the ends of it without disassemble it. shot a lot of squirrels with this 22 in my teen years.
One more thing, I almost lost this rifle in a home burglary in 1997, but got it back from police property when it was hocked. The insurance agent put a value on it that was higher than I expected because it was a pre 64 Winchester.
