"The Road" movie, opens Nov. 25
Have any of you caught the trailers for this movie? I've never read the book, but the movie looks like it might be a good post-SHTF watch.

It was a good book. Not very action packed or exciting but it was good. It's a very bleak view of how things could be if something catastrophic happened. They don't tell you what happened to cause the apocolyptic situation though that I can remember.

Nope, they don't. Very bleak indeed, filmed here in PA on the abandoned turnpike.

I'm pretty excited to see how the movie is. I read the book and really enjoyed it. It wasn't very exciting and was bleak but how else would you expect a post apocalyptic world to be?

The book didn't really focus on the SHTF aspect, but more on the degradation of humanity. Excellent read.

I saw a preview today on TV and I when I saw the lead actor with a GUN for protection, yes a GUN, that drew my interest and I think I'm going to have to see this movie!
So when did they film at the abandoned section of the PA Turnpike? If any of you haven't been on the abandon section I highly recommend it next time you're in Breezewood. It's a bike trail now so it's welcome to anyone and there are two abandoned tunnels to explore. Very neat!
