Promised Land State Park
Hello all,
I was wondering if any one could tell me about the Promised Land State Park.
I have a friend who is interested in visiting that area, but neither of us know about the park or the surrounding area.
If anyone could give me some idea about that area, it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Promised Land State Park
It's one of my favorite parks i've been there 5 or 6 times, but it is very rural. You are only 30 minutes away, drive over one day and check it out. I haven't been there since they started their renovations though, so I don't know how much has changed.

Re: Promised Land State Park
It's a standard state park. There's areas for camping, a rec area that has a playground for kids, grills and benches for picnics, a lake to fish, boat and swim in and trails to walk. It's I. The woods with a very small town, mostly to accomodate summer tourists. 2 general stores and a few gift shop type stores. A few resturants/bars.
It's mostly woods tho, pretty peaceful are.Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets.

Re: Promised Land State Park
It's a nice place if you like nature. They have paths that you can walk to see all of natures glory. They have a beach if you want to swim (I wouldn't recommend that this time of year, the lake is spring fed and cold as hell). They have boating, but I think they stop renting them after memorial day. It's a nice place to go to if you want to relax (as long as it's not tourist season).
Take a ride up and check it out.

It's a very nice place. We take the kids there every year for fishing and a cook out. Like was said there are a few general store near by glorified resteraunt/bait shops. They have charcoal pit on site and even boat rentals
