Spotted CC in a customers house
I do some repair work on rental units for a friend of mine who manages them. After a tenant wrecks the place, I go in and fix the broken stuff.
While I was at one today, a guy from the gas company was doing maintainence on the furnace and water heater.
I helped him with something in the basement and we both came up to the first floor together, he told the homeowner what he did, I told her what I did and will be back to finish tomorrow.
Then the gas guy said, "So, you carry a gun?" in front of the little old lady that owns the house. I normally keep it covered pretty well and didn't notice it showing.
The lady said, "Oh my!" Just as the gas guy said, "So do I."
Then she looked at him with a surprised look.
Anyway, the gas guy has a LTCF but didn't know that OC was legal here. So I talked to them for about a half hour explaining some laws. I wish I had a pamphlet.
I was really amused that the little old lady had so many questions.
When she left she said, "It was very nice meeting you and very intresting learning about your guns."

hahahaha. Thats pretty good and would have been pretty funny to see. Since you have to go back maybe you can take some flyers along for the gas guy and the old lady. So she sounds like she wasn't too worried about it than. Tha'ts pretty good. Maybe next time you go back you can OC.

Re: Spotted CC in a customers house
Happens to me all the time If anyone says anything, it is almost always a question about how to go about getting one. A few weeks back, I was putting a fire alarm in a dentist's office that was getting ready to open, and the GC told me that the doc had come in and saw my gun and told him, "OMG, that man has a gun!". The GC simply said, "Yeah, doc, this is Pennsylvania, we're allowed to carry guns here..". He laughed when he told me. I hadn't spoken more than three words to the GC before that, and I found out after that he doesn't even carry... Sometimes I take this great Commonwealth for granted...

I had a plumber come in a few weeks ago to work on a leak in my bathroom. I was OC and the first question was "Are you a cop?" I told him "No, I am a physician recruiter." He laughed and said "You need a gun for that?" I told him no, but that when not at work I am always carrying. He said he did too, but just kept it CC. Was pretty cool.
I also had an HV/AC guy have an almost identical conversation. He didn't know OC was legal. I remedied that. Shame on Bogey for not doing so sooner.
[ETA] Anyone else think that was sort of bad form to out another CC'er in front of a customer?Last edited by adymond; November 17th, 2009 at 04:22 PM.

Agreed, bad form to talk about it in front of the customer. Glad it ended well, though.
