A "do not re-elect" list....
Has anyone ever thought of doing a "Do not re-elect" list of officials, currently in office, who attempt to remove our rights from us? I was looking over the list of reps on the HB40 thread, and wondered if there could be a way to have a list of reps that are for HB40, and those opposed. Then have the list of "rights removers" posted for all to see so we all know who NOT to vote for next election.

Wouldn't it be much easier to create a "DO re-elect list"

Re: A "do not re-elect" list....
I suppose it depends on the reason for the list. Just HB40? What if there is a pro-gun representative who happens to believe HB40 isn't a good resolution? What if there is an anti-gun representative who happens to believe HB40 is a good resolution?
What about local mayors, councilors, township supervisors, and county commissioners who don't have the opportunity to vote on the state laws? Yet some of these folks oppress 2A issues more than state reps and senators...
I think you can see where I'm going with this.
It would be a massive undertaking, trying to keep up with every elected official and create an accurate report card.
Not to mention all of the officials who have yet to vote on a gun law...and we have little method to quantify how they will vote (except for the odd questionaire).
A laudible idea, though.Nine out of ten moderators approve of this post!

It could be done in the local forum sections. Simple, really. Just post the info in each county sub-forum so people can look up their county info. Have the members of this site keep up with each county, assigning them responsibility. It takes just a few minutes to create an outline of who is running for each town's council, mayor, judges, and school board, 30 minutes tops. Then one or two people to know what's the skinny on them. The NRA has questionnaires for candidates and officials which can be handed out--score an unanswered/unreturned one as an F.
How far this goes is entirely up to you.Last edited by Yellowfin; November 17th, 2009 at 01:33 AM.
