There was a time when she would have been tried and probably convicted of treason just for the trip and photos. IMHO that is what she deserved along with the prison time she would have earned.
Crap like her and the left coast loonies are the reason that many real heros from Nam are ashamed of their time and medals. A good friend from those years has the Bronze Star with two V's and is somewhat ashamed of them.

Little known story about her. When she was flying into NVN she was aboard a Russian transport. There were several other Russian transports in the group as well. These aircraft were in the gunsights of several USAF fighters.

They were not permitted to shoot be cause the planes were Russian. We did not want to piss of the Russians and give them an excuse to enter the war overtly.
It was her lucky day, unfortunately.
