    Gary,

The Rattle battle was/is the Trophy Infantry Team Match held at Camp Perry.
6 shooters 8 targets 394 rounds of ammo prone postion
600 yard targets in 60 seconds. no ammo limit
500 yards in 60 seconds, no ammo limit
300 yards in 60 seconds, no ammo limit
200 yards in 60 seconds, no ammo limit
Each target must be hit with a minium of 6 rounds, less then 6 hits, no score
If the team runs out of ammo at any time they are done for the match.
Prior to WWII a 7th man was added to the squad. He shot a BAR.
These were open to service and civilian shooters.

There is a ammo limit -the 384 rds.
You start at the 600 range prone and you have 50sec to shoot as many as your team can. Then you move down to the next yard line for a 2nd 50 sec time and so forth till your out.
The targets are Army "E" scored as hit ot miss.
You get 4 points for each 600yd hit
    3 for 500
    2 for 300
    1 for 200 yds
(^IAW CMP rule book pg 40)
So the idea is to get as many hits at the 600 and 500 as possable.
Here some pic's of the Navy team from Perry this year.
    Targets-

    OPEN FIRE!

    Advance the line!

With the 2 stage setup of the LRGC rifle range there is no good way to set it up.

However they could run a CMP type Garand match with no effort. It's all at 200 yards.
(PG47) Sorry all I have is a PDF or I'd post the pages.

Thanks for the update Rosco. But it is/was 60 sec. before the use of the "black" rifles. 384 rounds is correct.

Okay folks.... Finally an update. Thank you all for your patience. As you can imagine, Freddy and I have been a little "distracted" of late. Here is the deal:

The Course of Fire will be posted on all the various Winter of 1944 threads no later than 12/30/09

We will have room for 60 shooters.

The price will also be posted by no later than the 30th but count on it being under $50.00 for non-members.

We will be handling the registration exactly like we did our Zombie Shoot i.e. we will have an inital registration link here http://www.therallypoint.org/forum/i...19883#msg19883 We will open registration at 2000hrs on Wednesday January 6th 2010.

After you complete the registration link, you will be notified within 72 hours if you made it into the shoot. You will then have a period of time to get your funds into to the club. We will have a waiting list.

Feel free to email me with any question, comments, concerns or "yeah-buts" to lastdefender@aol.com

Have a happy and safe holiday season.

    Gary
