My son's first time with the .22.
My 7 year old son and I were at the cabin this weekend. I always take the .22 rifle in case he is ready to give it a try. Yesterday morning I asked him if he was ready and he said yes.
We had gone over all the safety instruction on previous trips, so he was ready to shoot. I put the target at about 30 yards and set him up on a shooting table. The first shot hit the edge of the 6 ring and the second was right on the edge of the 10 ring. He shot 14 shots and had a smile on his face the whole time. He (I) can't wait for the next trip to the range.
Check out some pics.

That's great that you're getting your son interested in our sport.... errr... well lifestyle. That's what we need, to pass it on to the next generations. It's also tons of fun for both us and them.
By the way, tell your kid: good shooting!

Congrats, must feel good. Sounds like your ammo bill is going to increase though. Atleast for a while it will be cheap with 22lr.

Nice work, he looks just like my 7 year old straining to reach the scope.

Nothing like seeing your kids shooting and wanting to take the leap. Good job. Next he will want his own guns, usually yours. LOL

Prodigy in the making! Good job on keeping him well educated before he ever held one.

Tell your son for us: "Nice shooting!" cameraman, great to see you spending time with your son, and teaching him about firearms and safety.
