does the rail on the 6940 add any real weight?

I am looking at either the 6920 or 6940, just need to attach a light and optic. I'll go 6940 if its not heavier. Cant seem to find listed weights to compare........

I just finished getting all of the parts I need for my next rifle and took this "before" pile of stuff picture. I was going to save it til after I put it all together, but what the hell!

LMT 1/7 upper, FA bolt carrier
RRA lower (finished in FDE by Customized Creationz)
    RRA lower parts kit
    Magpul ACS stock
    Magpul MOE hand guards
Magpul enhanced trigger guard (finished in FDE by Customized Creationz)
    Ergo grip

I'm not sure with what optic I'm going with yet and I still need to get a rear BUIS.

I'm hoping to get some time to put it all together shortly.

Yes its heavier, but not to heavy... I like it more because of the monolithic rail upper. It is very solid, and because you eliminate flex your optics hold zero exceptionally well.... Here is the weight difference. 6920 5.95 lbs 6940 6.81 lbs

That's going to look great! Very nice! Let me know how you like the ACS, they look like a nice option. MP makes great kit... I also like the FDE look and will probably build my 6920 up in that configuration.

My next rifle will be the new LWRCI REPR, LMT .308 or The LT OSR. I really like the REPR a lot though. I like what they did with the CH, very well thought out and overcomes one of the platform weaknesses...

I use the chair for new additions. I do have a couple pics I could post... I know I didn't christen my VZ58 Folder.

Thank you on the rifles. They are setup nicely for their individual purpose. I would also give a hard look at the SOPMOD stock regardless of what rifle you choose. It really adds excellent balance to a railed rifle.

Spectacular guns. I love the T-1 on the training carbine.

The UBR stock from magpul is also good for railed guns, balances nicely, and seems like it could take some abuse.

Just back from the range, would have been nice to run into you there... I was trying to get the 6940 dialed in to perfection with the CQT. I achieved my objective.

I was getting good groups when I did my part. They opened up a bit on the clock (3 shots 5 seconds @100) but it was shooting sub 1" off the clock (with a 3MOA dot at 3x). The Harris certainly helps from both prone and off the bench. The 6-9" is just right for this rifle and the LT mount keeps it locked in nicely.

The MRP with the T1 is a perfect carbine for me. It is setup to my personal preferences and works well for training and classes. I am still learning the BAD, but my initial impressions are that it will be faster and easier on speed loads. I also like being able to lock and release from my strong side. It is a simple yet effect piece of kit for your fighting rifle.... I also really like the texture of teh MP XT panels.

I am hopeful that 2010 will be a great training year. 10-12 days of classes is my goal.
