How many Halloween treats did you give out?

So how many Halloween treats did you give out to the trick-or-treaters tonight? We bought 200 treats and gave out 172 from 6-8pm.

My 8yr old came home with 7+ pounds of candy. What did your children come home with?

Actually not a one this year. I have the front porch wrapped in heavy plastic because I need to finish refinishing the wood floor so there's no way for the little ones to get to the door ... oh well, we never got many here anyways.

We had 2 trick or treaters this year. The most we've ever had was 5. The fewest we've ever had was 0. Oh well. The less we give, the more we get to keep.

Zilch~~my boys have never participated in that particular activity and our porch lights were off, and city regs allowed the trick/treat thing from 6-8 tonight so they're done.

Regulating trick/treating hours~~never heard of it until I moved east...

I gave out about 5 bags of bite size candy this year.

I think we had 30 this year.

Most of the houses had their lights off and didn't answer their doors.

I split some wood yesterday, got out the small contained woodburner, built a fair sized fire and we sat around the fire drinking hot chocolate and catered to the young'uns. My place was lit up like a jack o lantern.

My neighbor ,who usually sits at the base of his steps came over too and handed out his candy from our yard. The other neighbor was out of town, so she asked us to give out her stuff.

The new guy who isn't liked very much didn't hand out anything.

I only split about 25 pieces of wood and used up almost all of it in those 3 hours. My daughter and the friendlier of the 2 terriorists hung out so we had a pretty good time. I was going to hollow out a pumpkin,put it over my head,put a sheet over myself and hold the candy for the little ones and jump up when they reached for it but didn't have the time. There's always next year.

Less and less kiddos coming around and almost all of them had parents close by. Police were patrolling quite a bit as well.

I smell like a campfire now. Gotta go hose off.

We gave out about 100 pieces, but that was in handfuls to the kids that bothered to show up in the rain. A lot of them didn't even have a costume on. I used to go thru 500 pieces easy.

I live in a row home neighborhood, great to trick or treat in, well it used to be, the demographics have changed over the past few years, seems the new folks just aren't into holidays like when I first bought this house. No more 4th of July parades, not many decorations for any holidays. You used to be able to see this neighborhood from the moon at Christmas time, not so anymore.

Of course with all the predators in the world, the I don't care attitude of a lot of parents, nothing is fun for kids anymore. I'm glad I grew up when I did (pre-teen), it was a lot more fun, a lot more trusting. I knew ALL of my neighbors back then, could walk into any of their houses, they were all called "Aunt" & "Uncle".

Change isn't always better.
