From the Nov issue of The American Rifleman - a blurb about Winchester winning a contract - supply Homeland Security (Field Operations of Customs and Border Protection) - with 200 million rounds of .40 S&W over 5 years. Yes, thats 200,000,000 rounds, enough for 2 per every able bodied male in the country and then some. 40,000,000 rounds per year! What gives here???? Just askin....

They are probably going to start "intuitive shooting" while training. This is a controversial technique that consists of shooting without using the sights or proper trigger control at unarmed Canadians. I am sure they are just getting ready for a crackdown on the Northern border...

Re: Is Homeland security about to....?
According to their web page, Homeland Security has about 220,000 employees, in over a dozen departments. So lets guess 22,000 in Customs and Border- may be more, may be less. Not all of them will be field operatives, lets say 15,000 are. So, 40,000,000 / 15,000 = 2666 rounds per year per field operative. If they work 260 days a year (5 day week), thats over 100 rounds a day. Sounds fishy, no? Wish they would be a little more forthcoming on their website about how many and where.....Oh, I forget, it's Federal!

Re: Is Homeland security about to....?
considering what the government did to the last 2 boarder agents that were involved in a shooting, I dont know why any of them would want to unholster their weapons.
