Pittsburgh Area 1911 Smith?
I am looking for someone in the Pittsburgh area who works with 1911s. I just bought a Storm Lake threaded barrel for my suppressor. It is supposed to be drop-in, but it needs a barrel link installed. I don't have any experience with this kind of thing.
I did check the barrel in the weapon without a link and it goes fully into battery, so hopefully not a lot of fitting is required.
Thanks.

You may want to check out this thread http://forum.pafoa.org/gunsmiths-19/...a-15237-a.html, they do not have a gret reputation.

Go with GANS since he has a great reputation for high quality work on 1911's.
There are very few gunsmiths with in 100 miles of Pittsburgh that really have a reputation for quality work.

Re: Pittsburgh Area 1911 Smith?
You just gotta know who to talk to(keith or walt on a saturday) and you'll be good to go. I'm not sure i'd send one of my higher end guns up there but for something as simple as a barrel link I'd be fine with.
Plus the guy in that thread got the gun he ordered, I saw it and the order form he just wasn't happy because he somehow thought he was getting a custom 1911 for $1200 which as we all know isn't gonna happen.Last edited by XD45; October 30th, 2009 at 12:08 AM.
