Question Thoughts on new HK MR556 Rifle?

Do they have a winner, or just another overpriced rifle?
After I saw the reviews, and what it could do after buried in sand/mud/water... it looked impressive.

I thought HK quit marketing and selling rifles to civilians.

I guess after they lost their bid for a gov contract to replace the M4 with their 416 they figured they had to make their money back.

If I had the cash and needed another AR, I'd pick one up.

I think they said it will sell for about $3500.... so maybe that will scare alot of people away, and maybe made H&k lose the government contract....... I guess its all about the money?

Why the hell are all these manufacturers calling their rifles the same name? How many 556s do we need to keep track of?

Why not call it the 416a or something?

Why would I want an overpriced HK rifle, when their unofficial motto is "We Do It Because You Suck, and We Hate You."?

no matter how nice an HK AR15 might be I'd pass especially after HK sued GSG and now no more cheap MP5 22 cal clones. i'd much rather buy an AR15 from one of the companies that are civilian friendly instead of buying an overpriced AR from HK.

$3500!!!! Holy shit, they really think they're special don't they. I wouldn't pay $3500 for it even if I had that cash laying around.

This is a great option for folks who need to shoot their 10" barreled 5.56mm carbine, with a suppressor, full auto, immediately after popping out of the water....at their local range.

These people can then have the pleasure of getting replacement parts out of HK.

IMO, it's an over-engineered, over priced solution to a problem which doesn't exist for 99% of carbine shooters, which is still having the kinks worked out.

None the less, people will buy these like they're going out of style.

This. But its nothing new with the boys at HK. I would have tons of their rifles....if somebody else was paying for them.
