Minor Gunsmithing needed in BuxMont area.
I recently purchased a used Kimber 84M complete with Talley one piece mounts through Gunbroker.
I attempted to remove the bases and replace them with a 30MM set.
The first three screws came out with little difficulty, but the last wouldn't break loose and I've come close to stripping the head.
Before I do any more damage I'd like to get it into the hands of a competent gunsmith.
If at all possible I'd like to save the 1" bases to and use them on another rifle.
I stopped in at Targetmaster and they reccomended using a small torch to heat up the area, but that proved unsuccessfull too.
Any suggestions on a 'smith in the Bucks / Montgomery county area are appreciated.
I'm in Doylestown.

Michael Hane is in the area. I spoked to him a couple of times on the phone...and his personality didn't impress me. I heard he does good work though.

You could also try Randy Hollowbush in Topton, PA.

Go see Rick at Montana West on 309 southbound side just above Quakertown. His shop - Big Sky- is in the basement, you'll see the entrance on the north side of the building. Rick isn't cheap, but he IS good.

Thanks,
I dropped the rifle off this morning at Big Sky and should have it back by Saturday.
