    Default Assault rifles

Yesterday evening FultonCoShooter and I met up at my local range to shoot our assault rifles. We were shooting our AR's and my trusty old M1 Garand.

We assaulted paper plates, paper targets, sticker targets and cardboard. When we were finished, everything on the range was officially assaulted. We had the brass on the ground to prove it. A few old timers stopped up to see what all the noise was, and one fellow wanted to take a look at my Garand. I left him put an enbloc clip thru it, and you would swear he just won a medal. Smiles from ear to ear. We had a good time!

IMHO, if you can put rounds through a military rifle and not smile like a complete idiot....you need serious help.

    Assault away my brothers...

Good story and good advise! My cheeks hurt after a day at the range from smiling so much! Also, Nnothing relieves stress like shooting assault rifles! The only thing that compares is shooting big bore hand guns!

    cough....semi-automatic sporting rifles....cough.

That's cool. Good job on letting somebody throw a few down range, especially if it's an old timer who may have fired the garand a long time ago under much different circumstances.

My philosophy is that if you let someone that doesn't own one, or thinks they're "icky" shoot it, maybe they will realize that these aren't the monsters of death and destruction that stinking guttless libs say they are.

    Good job! Cheers.

Never owned an assault rifle personally - whoops; I take that BACK!

As a boy, I DID own a Crosman .177 airgun, and as I was fond of occasionally shooting my younger brother in the butt with it, I suppose that WOULD qualify it as an, "assault rifle."

I either own - or HAVE owned -

    - PWA HBAR (complete with M237 flare launcher!)
    - Olympic Arms & DoubleStar CAR-15's
    - SKS
    - Norinco & Yugo AK-47's
    - HK91 & PTR91
    - FN-FAL L1A1

Some of them have NEVER been fired; others only at paper. But the Crosman is the only TRUE "assault rifle" I've ever owned/fired.

You mean you were shooting your

Semi-Automatic Sporting Rifles that have Standard Capacity Detachable Magazines...

No such thing as "Assault Rifles" that are easily available to most citizens. Only politicians and other uninformed persons consider semi-auto rifles "assault rifles" (incorrectly too, I might add).
