Ron Bloom: Mao and Free Market 'Nonsense'

We know that the murderous Mao Tse-tung is one of White House Communications Director Anita Dunn's favorite political philosophers.

It turns out that yet another member of Obama's team is on the same page as Mao.

Is there really any doubt that Obama and his administration are a pack of radical Leftists?

Here's video that reveals the views of Ron Bloom, Obama's Manufacturing Czar. He's not a fan of the free market.

Bloom gave a keynote address at the 6th Annual Distressed Investing Forum, Union League Club, New York, February 27-28, 2008.

His speeech was "about a union's role in bankruptcy and restructuring."


RON BLOOM: In fact, in retrospect one finds that these restructurings are better than the slow death that our companies were in; but at the time and in the moment, it is almost never something we welcome. So, this is a..., but nevertheless, this is a world we've had to learn about. As we've tried to learn about this world, we have evolved some views....

Generally speaking, we get the joke. We know that the free market is nonsense. We know that the whole point is to game the system, to beat the market or at least find someone who will pay you a lot of money, 'cause they're convinced that there is a free lunch.

We know this is largely about power, that it's an adults only no limit game. We kind of agree with Mao that political power comes largely from the barrel of a gun. And we get it that if you want a friend you should get a dog.


Good grief.

What is with this fascination with Mao?

Bloom's beliefs don't seem to be in sync with the American economic system, at least not as we've known it before the fringe Leftist Democrats took over.

"The free market is nonsense"?

So many of the people holding positions in the Obama administration are radicals. I didn't know that Mao was so popular among the Leftists wielding power in the U.S. government.

I don't remember hearing Mao come up much during the 2008 campaign. Of course it would depend upon his audience, but for the most part, Obama presented himself as a moderate, someone in the mainstream. He didn't promise Americans that he would surround himself with admirers of Mao.

Obama in the White House doesn't bear a lot of resemblance to candidate Obama on the campaign trail.

Does Obama believe that the free market is nonsense?

Is the U.S. president a Mao fan?

If you look at the polling for October of 2008, the problem was not with Palin. It was with the guy at the top of the GOP ticket.

This is all part of the current Obama facade - Fake-support the 2nd Amendment, tell rural & union voters that "nobody's going to take your guns away" but then bait & switch with "common-sense gun laws" once the election cycle's over with. Subsequently, the thought that Barack Obama would never engage in gun-snatching prior to 2010 is cognitive dissonance - because the Obama Administration is trying to enact gun-snatching regulations right now.
