Mike,
this is from the SA site...which I am sure you already read.
http://www.springfield-armory.com/pr...1911-emp.shtml
I don't like the 3" barrel on a 1911 type frame...to me the 1911 frame is too bulky for the little people...now on appearance alone...it looks like a nice piece. I am sure it will be received well by the 1911 fans looking for a compact package.

Man! That is one sexy little gun!
For a second there, It hought this would be some sort of Ray Gun that fired Electro Magnetic Pulses of energy.
Now THAT would be cool.==============
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!”
~Samuel Adams
"I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it."

Should be a ray gun at that price...
Just saw at another forum that the EMP is being made in South America and comes with a price tag of well over $1200.00. Too rich for my blood...Mike45

SA has some high asking prices. Just look at their XD pistols...when it was the HS2000 those pistols were only $250...now that SA imports them...they cost more than Glocks do...gotta love marketing.

I just wish Springfield would bring backthe M6 Scout. Once they left the market, people started asking foolish amounts of money for used examples. It always struck me as a cool thing to have, just as a camp/backpack/knockaround gun.
Would I pay $200 for a new one? Yes.
Am I going to pay $375 for a used one? YGBFKM.
(My apologies for the hijack... we now rejoin your regularly scheduled thread already in progress.)

Re: Springfield EMP
Yes - got mine about a week ago - sweet! So far I've put about 300 rounds through it without any problems, jams or lockups. Aims a bit low - but that may be me, but it's accurate. Nice weight and the grip size (these can easily be changed) is perfect for me (small hands). It'll need a bit of fluff and buff, especially for carry, and I would do a reliability upgrade too. Throat & ramp polish, dehorn, mag well. Trigger is a bit heavy, so will probably work it to 4-4.5 lbs and I think it needs some checkering/stippling on the front strap. But right out of the box it did 300rds without incident and that's not bad! More when I've had more time with it.
