Wade Edwards arrived at his Apopka, Florida home in mid-afternoon to find his 16-year-old step-daughter. Unfortunately, she was in bed. Naked. With 18-year-old Julian Harp. Also naked.

So dad being a dad, he closed her bedroom door and went to load his gun. Harp quickly deduced that he'd gone from wanted to unwanted guest. But before he could get his ass in high-gear -- the recommended for this situation -- Edwards had returned, gun locked and loaded.

"He said, 'Get out, get out, get out of my house," Officer Ed Chittenden told WESH-TV. "He raised his hands and said,
'Please don't shoot, please don't shoot...'"

But Edwards, as you may have guessed, thought shooting would be a very good idea. Perhaps even therapeutic. So he began blasting away at what police politely call Harp's "pelvic area."

Alas, Dad was unable to score a direct hit on his intended testicular target. Harp was hit four times -- twice in the hips, twice in the femur, whatever that is. Wounded, but balls securely in tact, Harp managed to limp to the front yard and call 911.

Edwards confessed to the shooting, but claims it was self-defense. He says Harp leaped out at him and he was forced to shoot. But even we here at True Crime Report -- who heartily endorse the shooting of naked men found in your 16-year-old daughter's bed -- aren't buying that excuse.

Let's get this straight, Mr. Edwards. He leaped out at you, right? And in a startled moment of panic, you still managed to get off four shots at his balls?

Yet this still doesn't mean Edwards is guilty. The kid, after all, is expected to fully recover. And that's allowed him to learn a valuable lesson, namely: Never get naked at your girlfriend's dad's house, you %$#@&% moron!

So let's just say it's a teachable moment and call it a day, shall we?

Now being that this is in Florida, do ya think the gun was carried to the bedroom concealed? It didnt state if Edwards was a CCW holder either

what the hell was the dad shooting him with? 4 hits, two to the hips and 2 to the femur(s) and the kid limps out to the lawn by himself? I'm thrilled that he wasn't killed, of course, but was the dad shooting him with a .22 or something?

Being that Florida has some VERY "liberal " aka broad self defense with deadly force laws in place , especially with someone inside the home , I wouldnt be so quick to presume Dad's going to be doing a lick of time. Im not saying he wont, but given that Florida was the first State in the Union to enact " Stand Your Ground " Legislation for when people are in public, and that the law requires the Prosecution to prove ill intent outside the law beyond a reasonable doubt, the presumption is automatically that the shoot is justified unless proven otherwise. I'd be willing to wager that Dad has a better then 50/50 chance that charges arent even filed , and if they are , a jury of other Dad's or Mom's with promiscuous teenage daughters are likely to acquit. Dad's story might stink to high heaven , but can the Prosecution prove it ? Doubtful IMHO

Shooting some one is not an acceptable form of birth control. That dad should spend time in prison and be afforded the opportunity to never legally own a firearm again.

Here are some of the major problems I have with the Dads actions. No need to be mad at the young man, he was just doing what all of us men have done at one time or another, have or try to have sex. This guy is a terrible parent, shooting a person in front of his daughter without it being the least bit necessary is bad parenting. Who the hell aims at testicles??? That is some seriously demented shit.

Most of us have been there... just without the gunshot wounds, profuse bleeding and scarring.
