Well, I took the plunge!
The plunge into .45 ACP ism!!
Just got back from the gun store! I picked up a Taurus PT1911 Blued, with all the bells and whistles...$499! Get 'em while you can cause the gun store guy said the price will be going up again, soon.
I can't believe how solid this gun is for the price! I compared it to a CZ .45 and a Glock 30 .45 and I chose the PT1911! No comparison!! Stay tuned for the RocketFoot Photos to come!Last edited by RocketFoot; July 12th, 2007 at 10:43 AM.

Welcome to the 45 family, you'll find yourself slowly but surely spending more and more time going to the range to play. And to think only yesterday you were complaining about the price of a fishing license.

Let me know how the Taurus runs I was just looking at two of them at my local gun store. They look like a lot of gun for the money.

Re: Well, I took the plunge!
Well, what happened is that I paid in full on a M77 Hawkeye pre order like a month ago...but the gun store couldn't produce one. So I got tired of waiting and cashed in on the PT1911. I still need a good hunting rifle, but I think I will wait and get a Remington 710 in 7mm mag. They had a nice one there for $249 complete with scope and sling.
The PT1911 was actually cheaper than the M77 so now I have a few bucks for the fishing license!

Re: Well, I took the plunge!
th pt is a great gun, so good sportsmans warehouse is selling them for $650 just becase they can(those are the exact words from the guy there when i questioned the price) if i could find one for 500 i.d have it by now.. but the store that sells them for that cant keep them in stock, and sportsmans warehouse has 5 because they are so overpriced. first time i shot one every bullet went in the same hole

The Taurus PT1911 is a lot of gun for the money, you get a lot of the upgrades over comparably priced 1911s. I've heard that Taurus has really bumped up their customer service and their quality. Let us know how it shoots.
