Our area has been hit by a crime wave...
It's been getting worse every year, but since the economy took a turn for the worse, it's escalating... The local gas station has been burgled two times in the past couple weeks, a garage was broken into and a car vandalized a couple of weeks ago, many of the shops in town have been robbed, we've had numerous weird people hanging around town, and just today the store right next door had a quilt stolen off the line in broad daylight... We tried to chase down the car to get a description, but we couldn't find it... I tried to convince the Amish lady to call the police but she didn't want the trouble.
It's sad how bad it's getting... Our family store was robbed about a year and a half ago, we have drug dealers in the area, overall the area has become much worse.
I pray that we don't start having violent crime.
Anyway, I gave the lady at the gas station that got burgled a LTCF application and PA gun rights pamphlet.

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised... When we got robbed, the police told us that the criminals were coming from Philadelphia, Lancaster, etc...
ETA: And where there are drugs, there are probably gangs...

Re: Our area has been hit by a crime wave...
FYI, you have always had drugs and drug dealers in your area. You may have seen an upswing in open or street drug dealing. Please bear in mind that this is a direct result of the war on drugs. If drugs were legal you wouldn't see this kind of activity with its accompanying violence. Further, if drugs were legal most of the crimes committed by addicts to fuel their habit would vanish as well.

As an insurance adjuster I get a lot of theft claims from the Lancaster area. Thefts are up all over but that area is really getting worse. Good luck to you.
