need your advice Saiga vs AK-74

Gents,

I've been thinking of picking up a 5.45 rifle for a while now. I am down to two choices:
1. A 5.45 Saiga $370 == http://www.centerfiresystems.com/sai-545.aspx
2. A Bulgarian TG AK 74 $500 == http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/T...x39_Rifle.html

Neither of them are 922b compliant in current configuration. But the TG is almost there. Is it worth buying the saiga and investing to convert it to pistol grip + 922b compliant. Or just spend a little more on TG + another 80 to make it 922b compliant. I am leaning towards the Saiga right now since it is a brand new rifle, unlike the TG which is god knows how old. What do you guys think? What are the prons and cons for both.

I actually think either would be a good choice. Personally, I would probably go with the saiga and convert it. It will be more expensive once you factor in the conversion but you get a brand new Russian 5.45.

Classic has the 5.45 saiga for $320

at that price the choice is quite clear.

Normally I try and steer People towards doing their own Saiga conversions, but the price of that TG is pretty darn good assuming it's a not a hack job.

Conversion parts for tha Saiga will be in the neighborhood of $120 when all is said and done.
