36 guns found at alleged meth dealer's home

Police have seized 36 guns, including a homemade rifle, from the Port Richmond house of an alleged crystal meth dealer.
John Connell, 37, of the 3000 block of Salmon Street, was charged with possession with intent to distribute and with violating the uniform firearms act, police said.

Acting on a tip, police were conducting surveillance of Connell's house Sunday night when they saw a woman make a drug purchase there, according to Chief Inspector Teresa Clark of the narcotics unit.

Police confronted the woman as she left and found she was carrying eight grams of crystal meth, Clark said.

After police obtained search warrants, they found 17 rifles and 19 pistols hidden throughout the house and a garage behind the house. One of the rifles was homemade, a relatively unusual finding, Clark said.

Police also confiscated about $20,000 worth of crystal meth, plus small amounts of marijuana and cash.

Connell was convicted of murder in 1990, court records show, and sentenced to 20 years in prison. It was not clear yesterday how much of that term Connell served, but he was arrested again in 2005 on charges of assault and making threats. Those charges were later dropped, according to records.

When are WE as a society going to start holding CRIMINALS FULLY accountable for their actions?

At what point does the people (Judges, DA's, attorney's, parole boards etc) that allow these Bad Guys back on the streets with their catch and release policy ACCOUNTABLE for their actions? When do they become "the problem"?

If they stop the revolving door, it means they get less funding for them and more for the jails and they just can't have that. Can they?
The 2A does not GIVE us the right. It tells the gov they can not INFRINGE our right.

At the point you vote their sorry butts out of office. That would be precisely the point. How many times have you paid attention to the DA, parole board, and judge elections? Every one of those slimeballs are up for vote every so often. Put them out of a job and see to it that they never get another public office again. Dianne Feinstein got her political career started as a parole board member. Remember that.

After taking 36 guns off the guy, he had very well better be guilty, not just this weak "alleged" stuff.
