    Default Revolvers in 5C?

Can anyone fill me in on this? Can I use a .45LC in 5C? I have a LTCF. I still have to get a hunting license. Do I need a special license?

Yes and No, ...no handgun hunting in Chester. Muzzleloaders, 20ga or larger shotguns with buckshot or slug, bow & arrow, crossbow, and .410 shotguns with slugs only.

    http://www.pgc.state.pa.us/pgc/cwp/v...a=465&q=151336

Special Regulations Areas: (all of Allegheny, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties) Muzzleloading long guns, bow and arrow, manual or auto-loading shotguns, 20 gauge or larger, slugs or buckshot only; crossbows and .410 shotguns with slugs. Buckshot may not be used in Allegheny County. Only crossbows, bows and arrows are permitted in Philadelphia County. Crossbows may be used in the two-week statewide concurrent antlered and antlerless deer season.

If you go somewhere else in 5C that isn't one of the listed counties above, you can use your 45LC. Your LTCF will cover you for transporting and concealing. No other license needed(other than hunting license).

I've often thought about this very thing. I would love to hunt with the .44 around here. Not sure there's much difference between a 12g slug and a .357, .41, .44, .45lc. Apparently the GC thinks there is or else they would allow it. Oh well. Guess I just have to live with carrying it for bear and deer in Pike county.

Given the advances in slug ballistics, modern slugs have more reach than than 44 etc. Muzzleloaders are better than they used to be too. Some states that were shotgun only have started allowing straight wall cased rifles (45-70 etc).

Maybe we should agitate the PGC for that change, it would happen sooner than one for semi-auto rifles.
