Andy Williams, the veteran pop singer, has accused Barack Obama of "following Marxist theory" and "wanting the country to fail".

Williams told the Radio Times he thought Mr Obama wanted to turn the US into a "socialist country".

Williams, a lifelong Republican whose hits include Moon River and Music To Watch Girls By, told the Radio Times he thought Mr Obama wanted to turn the US into a "socialist country".

The 81-year-old was a friend of the Kennedy family during the 1960s and was present at the Los Angeles rally where Robert F Kennedy was assassinated in 1968.


"I was very close to Bobby and he asked me to be a delegate for him when he ran for president," he said.

"He knew about me being a Republican, but just laughed and said, 'Sign yourself in as a Democrat and then change back afterwards'. Sadly, I never got to do that.

"I was very close to Teddy Kennedy, too, and his death recently brought it all back. What a tragedy. Had he lived, I think Bobby would have been a great president."

But Williams had a less favourable opinion of the current president.

"Don't like him at all," he said, "I think he wants to create a socialist country. The people he associates with are very Left-wing. One is registered as a Communist.

"Obama is following Marxist theory. He's taken over the banks and the car industry. He wants the country to fail."

Politicians, media personalities and conservative activists have accused the US president of espousing socialist ideas.

Earlier this month, Jim Greer, the chairman of the Republican Party in Florida, said he was "absolutely appalled that taxpayer dollars are being used to spread President Obama's socialist ideology", after the US leader appeared in a televised address to be shown in classrooms around the country.

He's exactly right. It's no secret that the O-hole wants to recreate the Great Depression so he can have the political power that FDR had-- a lot of the stuff he did would never have flown if the people weren't starving and desperate and begging the government to take more and more power.

Look at it on the bright side, Obama can't crap all over Washington's well-respected and self-imposed 2 term limit like FDR did. At least our forefathers fixed one thing that FDR did wrong.

Of course Obama wants the system to fail. As long as our capitalist, free-enterprise, personal freedom system functions, he can't replace it with the centrally-controlled socialist utopia that he wants.

It's like having an evil business partner who hates the office copy machine, and he wants to buy a spiffy new one from his brother-in-law's copy machine company. But you won't let him buy a new one because the existing copier is working fine. So he starts overloading the paper tray, and cramming too much toner inside, and he generally screws with it until it breaks.

NOW he can go buy that copier that he likes, and you go along with it, because your copier is dead.

So how do you kill our system? Easy, you just spend so much tax money that you can't possibly pay it back, in your first year spend all of this year's receipts and next year's.
And you seize control of major industries and place them under government control. You change the laws frequently and make all business unpredictable. You create random incentives using tax dollars for "rebates" that are aimed at people who own POS clunkers but are looking to buy brand-new cars during an economic downturn (sure, and I'm looking to upgrade my Jennings .22 for a Colt Thompson machinegun, too.)
You create random disincentives by dishonoring contracts after the fact, by taxing bonuses at 100% and changing the bankruptcy rules so that priority creditors are shoved aside in favor of unions.
You make banks lend money to people with bad credit based on the color of their skin, then when they default you blame the "lack of regulation" and you make the banks do even more stupid things.

Everything Obama is doing, and everything the crazy Democrats have done for the last 2 years, makes perfect sense if they want to destroy the current system. Otherwise, it's just inexplicable incompetence.
