I don't want to rerward GM, but I need a new used vehicle
I find myself needing another truck, and I refuse to support government motors. My problem is around here all the dealerships are the same ownership. I’m not bent on buying from a dealer, but they certainly have more to choose from. I have no issue buying a GM product provided the sale doesn’t reward GM. The reality is full size trucks only gives me a few options and I may need to consider a good used GM although it wouldn’t be my first choice.
My questions are if I had to grab a used GM from a GM dealer does that purchase in any way kick money back to GM or does the profit go straight to the dealership as it’s their used vehicle? The same question if the GM truck were purchased from a Ford or Toyota dealer owned by the GM dealership up the road? Different dealership same owner. I would assume they’re separate entities, but who knows. I don't want to punish the dealer for GM's issues, but I do want to limit GM receiving my hard earned money.
Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.FUCK BIDEN

Used vehicles profits go to the dealership. Every company out there is taking the stimulus money. Either in bailout or clunker money.
The dealers had little if any say in what the corporation did as far as bailout. Many were opposed and for many the bailout/bankruptcy cost them their franchise.
What do you need that only GM can provide?

i'd suggest looking around to find a good used truck from a private seller.
in my experience, you pay a pretty hefty premium buying a used vehicle from a dealer rather than a private seller...and, imho, you generally don't get anything for that premium.F*S=k

This.
I did this and got the money from the Credit Union for it who then has a warranty program you can tack on to used vehicle purchases that can cover various levels of repairs.
It's been good for me so far...got a couple repairs to be covered coming up soon, all I have to worry about is a $250 deductable.
Im half considering doing the work myself if I can manage it though - ball joint. needs replaced. Back window hinge bolt broke...and something with the exhaust (which is likely the part I can't handle).

Ever think of looking outside the area, and shipping in? You may be able to find someone here willing to stop and checkout before money goes through. Shipping a car sometimes is even worth the $500 or so, I have a friend who buys bikes and cars off of ebay with great success.
