Default Where to buy Remington 1100 barrels?

I'm buying a Remington 1100 TAC from a member here to use for 3 gun. However, I'd also like to shoot some trap. Rather than buy a separate gun for trap, I was thinking I could buy a longer (28" or 30" perhaps) barrel for the 1100 and swap them out for the two different uses.

So, where's the best place to buy a 1100 barrel that is suitable for trap shooting?

    1100 trap barrels aren't cheap. Typically $225-$250.
If you can settle for just a longer barrel with a fixed choke you're looking at $150 range.

$225-$250 is still better than another gun! If I go with one of the ones with a fixed choke, what would you recommend?

    Thanks

Dave, I would go with at least a 30" for trap... Sporting and skeet you can get away with shorter barrels but when shooting "away" the extra length will help. I use a 32" for trap.....

Before others chime in with their "I shoot with a 26" 410 and never miss yada yada".... My point is trying to optimize performance for a particular shooting sport not that it cant be done with something else....

In this order for a beginner/intermediate trap shooter:
    1. Improved Modified
    2. Modified
    3. Full

So in other words, I'm much better off spending a bit more for a barrel that accepts additional chokes so that I can change them as I progress?

Well, I guess thats one way to go. I began with a Improved Modified and have never switched out. Many "seasoned trap shooters" still choose a IM at the 16 and switch to Full when shooting handicap.

My list was if you could only have one choke which I would choose in order depending on availability. So, if you could lay your hands on a IM for a good price, pull the trigger on it!
