Refinish before adding new sights?
I have a .45 pistol I carry. I'd want to add Trijicon night sights, but I also want to have it refinished in Melonite.
Should I have it refinished before or after installing the new sights?

Re: Refinish before adding new sights?
You may be able to have the finisher mount the new sights if you send them with the pistol. Speak to the first. However, it is necessary for the sights to be removed in order to refinish the slide.

That's what I figured.
The tritium insets won't be able to handle a dip in the Melonite bath. The front sight is a tenon installation. I'll just send the news sights along with the pistol and have the refinisher install them.
