Question On Team Competitions
Myself and 5 other shooters from where I work are interested in competitive shooting as a team. We are from Luzerne and lackawanna counties. Any suggestions on where and who to compete with. I thought of IDPA, but that is an individual event. Thanks for the help in advance.

Re: Question On Team Competitions
Do you mean competing as one group of individuals against another or team tactics? IMO team tactics really comes into its own in a force on force environment. an IDPA course with a 180 degree range rule wouldn't work very well with two or more people using proper team tactics. If you find an appropriate venue let me know.

Re: Question On Team Competitions
I was thinking more of shooting as individuals combining the scores kind of events.

Re: Question On Team Competitions
If you are interested in shooting rifle there are some good opportunities for team events. National Match Course shooting with a service rifle comes to mind. During the Nationals at Camp Perry there is a six man team fired on the standard National Match Course 200-300-600 yds. That match is called the National Trophy Team match. On the next day of the Nationals is the National Trophy infantry Team match also known as "rattle battle" and is lots of fun. Every State has an official state team to represent them at the Nationals and there are many private club teams that enter too. I have shot both with private club teams and also been a firing member of the Pa State service rifle team.
Guys that are serious about team shooting, will train all year just for the nationals.
I enjoy team shooting, but prefer the individual aggregate matches much more.
