My company is imploding a building this sunday.
The local news station is doin a story on it!
http://www.azcentral.com/community/phoenix/
If the big bang theory works, an old high-rise in midtown Phoenix will come crashing down Sunday without damage to other nearby businesses and residences.
Crews with Advanced Explosives Demolition are strapping in more than 150 pounds of explosives to the old steel structure that once served as the Mountain Bell building at 3rd Street and Earll.
Demolition expert Eric Kelly said gravity and explosives will work together in bringing the structure down
The demolition will be part of a TLC Channel reality show and that has neighbors concerned.
Nearby resident Cynthia Gonzalez said they're afraid the building is being demolished in such a way to make good TV, not for the safety of neighbors.
Kelly says if things go according to plan, there will be a bang and a little dust, but the old building will tumble down harmlessly.

That looks pretty cool!
How exactly does one get into explosive demolition, specifically on the engineering side of it?And don't think you're off the hook, voters, you're the ones who made this bed. Now you're the ones who are going to have to move over so a gay couple can sleep in it. Tomorrow you're all going to wake up in a brave new world, a world where the Constitution gets trampled by an army of terrorist clones, created in a stem-cell research lab run by homosexual doctors who sterilize their instruments over burning American flags. -- Stephen Colbert

Re: My company is imploding a building this sunday.
I honestly dont know, we hired a subcontractor to plant the charges and all that jazz.
Our company has been on and off the site for more than two years, the owner of the building has failed to pay us several times. So we decided to blow his buildng up =D lol. (kidding about just blowing it up ofc) its been in the works and has been on the back burner for the last few months. As soon as we got the funding we went forward.
