1911 Ambi Thumb Safety
I am getting ready to purchase a RIA 1911 Tactical. One question I have is for those who own and carry one, how is the ambi-safety for CC? I am more curious as to if the safety on the right hand side snags on clothing or disengages more while carrying IWB. Any thoughts/opinions would be appreciated.

Re: 1911 Ambi Thumb Safety
I just pulled my RIA Tactical and it doesn't look like there should be any problems. The safety doesn't jut out very far (it's just about even with the grip thickness) so I don't think it will snag on anything.

I don't care for ambi safeties on my carry pistols for the reason you mentioned! If you are a lefty you don't have much choice... I can manipulate my strong side safety with my weak hand as easily as I can with my strong hand... Practice, practice and more practice...

and they can fail.
keep an eye on it, make sure it doesnt start to work its way out.
My CQB came with one, I am skeptical, but I keep an eye on it and so far it seems well fit enough to be secure. The one I used to have on my TRP failed on me, and I ripped it out and Lycan showed me how to fit a single sided.
I'd rather have a single sided myself.
