having only one in through the student entrance they never had metal detectors there...or wands that I remember. Of course PSU does not allow weapons on campus and if found you'll be escorted out and may have to deal with the local asshat cops.

    Volunteers handle the 'searching'.
If you carry tight and close to body I am pretty sure it would go through fine.
I don't think they use wands at all and even if they did they are not very useful in the hands of most people.
I once CC'd in to a bar in Easton, didn't know doorman was wanding- he said me "Take anything that may set this off out of your pockets" to everyone before wanding them... when he got to me I said "I'm gonna beep" cuz I really didn't know what else to do... he wands me quick (no beep) and says 'thought you were a hotshot huh?' and waved me through... ... That caught me off guard. I guess my carrying at 4:30 position was enough to keep his careless direct side checks from picking anything up...

But, as cigarman says, no guns on campus, and if for whatever reason you got found out, you'd probably get kicked out and not be welcome back.

I wouldn't attempt it as per PSU rules and the stadium is on campus. Also, many stadiums are tightening up security since a report came out last week that sports stadiums are still very vulnerable to terrorist attacks (Beaver Stadium when filled is at/over 110,000 people, a rich target). Michigan said that they will allow NO bags into their stadium unless the person has a form from a doctor saying that the person must carry their medicine with them at all times (think insulin in a bag to keep it cold).

IMO, it's safe enough that you can leave your gun in the car, your not in Philly or Pittsburgh. If you feel naked without your gun, deep conceal a pocket pistol

the state college municipal area is the 3rd "safest" in the country...

*note: I put safest in quotation marks because that's obviously a very very general term... and I am not sure how the study quantified it... also... I can't even direct you to the report, but I can promise it was from what most of us would consider reasonable source... I think... then again maybe just ignore this post because its full of a lot of 3rd party accounting.

Sure, this weekend if you took a look at our little hospital you'd prolly see a bunch of *young* guys that got beat up in some way or another... but if I could bet 10$ on every case that it was alcohol related stupidity; I'd be pretty well off:-) Not to mention probably no (few?) happen anywhere near the stadium... just outside the bars:-)

    EDIT:
    Ahah! I found it!

source not as secure as I may have remembered (considering I have no clue what CQ Press is all about)

knowing the town like I do, I'd feel more comfortable not carrying there then any other place that comes to mind. However, I see nothing wrong with someone wanting to protect themselves there.
