    Default Florida Permit

I am in the process of getting my Florida permit. I got all the information from their website, my question is where did you go and get your fingerprints taken, and how long after I my information packet and send my application back to Florida, what is the turn around time on receiving my permit? Also is there anything else besides what I have read on the website that I am going to have to do? Did anyone have any issues or problems with receiving their CCW?

I might be moving to Indiana, and it would be nice to have Ohio thru Florida just so I didn't have to pack it up as I drive thru there.

    Thanks

    Jason

You can go to your local police department or state police barracks. Sometimes they will refuse to do it locally, so you might have to check with neighboring departments to get prints done.

Florida is backlogged right now, statutorily they have either 60 or 90 days to issue. But they have been backed up due to the loads of applications coming in.

You'll need proper sized photos to submit with the app.

Some PDs will do it, some won't. I went to Horsham PD, not too far from you. Call them, as there's a fixed time in the week when they do this.

No, but any photo place will. In fact, a lot of drug stores have a little self-service passport photo booth.

I went to local PD (Cranberry TWP)

what is the turn around time on receiving my permit

Mine took over their 90 days listed on website. The reason for this I was told is the 90 days DOES NOT start until your application begins processing!

Also is there anything else besides what I have read on the website that I am going to have to do

Like others have said, you will need passport photo, I had mine taken at AAA

it would be nice to have Ohio thru Florida just so I didn't have to pack it up as I drive thru there

Pack it up through SC, they no longer offer reciprocity (last I looked anyway) or go around!
Good luck, be patient and it will come ...

There's another way to go, which will cost a little more money but saves the legwork. A lot of ranges hold "FLA or UT permit all in one day" type events, where you go to the range and they have the required training class there, a local PD guy does the fingerprints, they take the photos, they walk you through the paperwork and then notarize it. That saves the 4 or 5 separate errands you'd need to run.

    See:

    ...for some dates.
