NRA Markmanship
Curious if anybody is involved with...or has already done...the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program?
Do you really "earn" the awards or is it more of a money maker for NRA and anybody who participates gets an award?

Re: NRA Markmanship
I use the awards for proficency. It helps me a lot when I work with youth. The kids get into a little compitition with it. I think it's a good program and I use it. It's a nice reward for doing well.

Re: NRA Markmanship
According to my program guide it is open to everyone, men, women adults and youth.
Quoted from the program guide" Qualification shooting is based on the honor system. It can be a self administered activity or it can be administered by parents, club leaders, coaches, or instructors as part of a family club or group program"
there are some rules for the program but anyone can use it.
Update: Just looking at the link you provided and it is the same as my guide.Last edited by Blue301; September 24th, 2009 at 03:28 PM.

Re: NRA Markmanship
Reading thru it...
Practical...I just got last weekend.
Pro-Marksman, Marksman, Marksman 1st Class, Sharpshooter, and Expert are all done on your own. Do you need to submit the targets to someone who then sends you the patches and such? Or do i just pay for the patches and thats it?
Distinguished Expert is the 1st time a witness it needed....
Guess i need to find an NRA club to do this stuff? Want kind of club are you using it at?
