    Default OC on motorcycle

If riding a street bike, can you OC without a permit? Reading the laws it says "IN a motor vehical" And with you really concealing the handgun with car makes sense. But what about on a streetbike where is will be plainly visable the entire time?

I ran a quick search, the search function is in the upper center of your PAFOA browser

Carry statute says "in" a vehicle.

Basicly, PA defines a "vehicle" as anything used to transport. Its a gray area because that could include grannys Hoverround.

    Get a permit, problem solved.

Im still new to linking stuff together but run a search and you will find the statutes I reference.

The search function is your friend! IN Versus ON a motor vehicle has been contested! I wouldn't trust the written word against the common sense of a judge. Plus, with a LTCF, you are free to save the legal fees you would most certainly pay out!!

A license from ANY state would cover you on a motorcycle, correct?

To the above: Only if it is honored by PA (or whatever state you are in)

A license/permit from any state that has reciprocity with the state you're in.

If out of PA, check their laws VERY carefully.

Aside from that, I'd say that OC on a bike probably isn't the best idea I've heard lately . . . seems likely to attract the wrong kind of attention (not just LEOs).

Common sense would suggest the issue is one of concealment. For the most part, your gun is concealed from others when IN a motor vehicle. There is no concealment issue if you are carrying openly on a motorcycle. Now, if you have a touring bike and want to put your gun in the tour pack or saddle bags, then it's concealed and covered by the statute.

However, like Danny pointed out, I wouldn't bank on a judge applying common sense. You're covered if you just get an LTCF.

    I disagree. §6106 (b) (11):

    (11) Any person while carrying a firearm in any vehicle which, person possesses a valid and
lawfully issued license for that firearm which has been issued under the laws of the United States
    or any other state.

These two statements are not accurate. This is not a reciprocity issue. It does NOT have to be a state that PA has entered into a reciprocity agreement with, not when it comes to having a firearm in a vehicle. The following exception is found in 6106:

    (11) Any person while carrying a firearm in any vehicle, which person possesses a valid and lawfully issued license for that firearm which has been issued under the laws of the United States or any other state.

I agree if you leave PA, you must comply with reciprocity agreements, but ANY permit/license from ANY of the other 49 States will work while in PA.

Be safe (and ride free or die).

    Scott
