Default Any XDm 9mm owners out there?

I need a pistol that fits in the IDPA box. I'm currently shooting a G17L and it's too long. Seriously considering the XDm 9mm vs the G19. Any XDm owners here, or anyone that's at least fired one? Your thoughts?

    love mine!

but i dont know if it fits in an IDPA box....

zero issues, comes back on target very well, but is long in the handle and 4.5 inch barrel so im assuming its as big or bigger than the glock in question

I own a XD9 Sc. I love the gun. Check one out, You won't be sorry you did.
I can't say enough good things about the gun. If you got me started you'd swear I worked for them. I don't

My Glock 17L has a 6" barrel. I'm fairly certain the XDm fits the IDPA box since the Glock 34 does. I think the 34 is just shy of a 5" barrel.

I've shot the XDm, nice gun. I'm pretty sure it fits the box. You can shoot SSP with the Glock, not the XDm though but you probably know that.

I have an XDm9, but I'm wondering why you're not looking into getting a G34 or G17 for IDPA? They will feel identical with the 17L you have except maybe slightly different trigger if you've worked on yours.

The XDm9 feels quite different from the Glocks, and if you want a change, that's no problem... but if you've been shooting the Glocks for a while and have become intuitive with it, why change it?

I recently acquired an XDm in 9mm. I have never shot a Glock, so I can't compare them, and I don't have any experience in any pistol shooting competitions, so i can't be much help there, either.
I do like the balance, and grip angle, and the trigger seems very nice to me. I have handled and dry-fired Glocks, and the trigger on the XDm seems smoother. The Glock trigger gaive a distinct "twang" when dry-firing, as if I could feel the spring vibrating.
If you want to shoot one, PM me, I'd be glad to get together and let you try mine.

Actually I'm not at all familiar with the classes. Care to elaborate? Thanks!

I have an XDm-9 and I love it. I liked the Glocks as well but they are both different feels. The XDm-9 has a 4.5 inch barrel but overall it is a bit bigger then the Glock 17. It also holds more ammo, 19+1. I love it. It shoots great and seems to get better the more you shoot it. If you do go for it try to get the two tone stainless. The finish will hold up a bit better then the all blued.
