Default Any SAKO Rifle Owners Out There?

Hey guys/gals, I normally don't post these type of threads but I thought I would reach out to a broad audience this evening.

I am working a trade on a NIB Hk P7M8 and one of the trades I am considering is a SAKO rifle. I don't know which model yet and will have that info and pics shortly. My question tonight is more about the quality of the brand. I am not very familiar with the brand other than seeing some positive articles about it. Looking for some folks who have experience with the brand and get some opinions of the quality of the brand. I will get more specs later but I am more interested with the quality than anything else..

    D90,

I was stationed in Germany in the 89-91 - and brought back a Sako from one of the gun stores on base. (Bitburg) It was a Sako Vixen Varmint in .223 Rem. The rifle absolutely was dripping quality. And would happily put 5 rounds into a target the size of a nickel at 100 yards.

Thank you guys! I guess if they can make a great shotgun then they can make a nice rifle too. Was just curious about peoples experience with them. Its kinda funny because the other rifle I am considering as a partial is one with questionable quality. It is a AW prefix PTR91...

My father owns a SAKO .300 Magnum that he bought somewhere around 1978 and is an avid hunter. I can say to date that he has never experianced an issue with his rifle and having shot his rifle on many occasions I can say from experiance that it kills on both ends! I think SAKO makes a quality product.

sako is as good as they come. when it comes to making firearms very few people can out do the FINNS.

as a side note, sako and tikka is the same company, and they were both purchased bt Berreta.

I have a Sako 75 in .280 Winchester. I have NEVER felt as smooth an action on a factory gun as on the Sakos. It is the proverbial butter smooth. The metal work and the metal to wood fit is absolutely perfect. I am setting up a hunt out west (Wyoming) for my father and I and this is the gun I will be taking. BTW, this gun didn't cost me but $10 (a raffle ticket from one of the local volunteer FD's). Best $10 I ever spent .

The SAKO 75 is a classic, if you go hunting in Africa AND eUROPE you will encounter a smorgasborg of SAkos and CZ's, CZ's being another excellent Rifle.
