Default Picked up a gem S&W Model 36 Pics are up

I just bought a S&W model 36 no dash, date of manufacture is 1973, pinned barrel, blue in absolute mint condition only 10rnds fired, complete with box.

I was going to carry and shoot this gun but after I thought about it it will just stay in the safe, just don't see many like this anymore.

I'll try and get picks up if I can get my camera to co-operate.

Congrats on the purchase. I am a wheel gunner myself and the old smiths are top notch. This kind of market is why smith brought the "Classic" line of revolvers out recently. Check out my new thread in the gun pics section of my two tuned wheelies...

I myself am not a wheel gunner, but only a few weeks ago I had none and now I have 2. I have in the past owned many wheelguns, mostly S&W Jframes, 29's and 629's. I had a LINB 29-2 4" that I sold not long ago, that's one I wish I kept.

I will agree that the older smiths are some of the best wheelguns made, you could not give me a new smith with the lock, it's a shame they put them on their wheelguns.

Now I own a NIB SP101 2" and this model 36. I will shoot and carry the SP101.

Very nice piece!! Don't let 1blindref see it, he's on a bit of a roll lately.

    very nice!
The M36 is a true classic and yours is in excellent condition! I don't blame you for not shooting it. Look for one in not so nice condition and shoot the bejesus out of it instead.
The 36's with the original box are starting to really go up in value.

    Congrats on your find!

    lol -
I'm happy with the 36's that I have, but there is something about S&W J-frames. They are like potato chips, once you have one, you need more!

this one was made in 1966

    this in 1968

    and this 36-1 3 inch in 1981

Nice score! I have a Model 36 I gave to my wife for her carry piece. She loves it.

Where can I find the info to get a manufacture date?
