Default Questions about my S&W 659

Picked one up a couple weeks ago in a trade, and I am trying to find out some more info about it. When looking for holsters and magazines, very few of them clearly state whether they are for the 659. I know it is an older LE gun, so the market for things for it is limited. But back to the mags and the holsters, would a holster made for the 5906 work with a 659? and what other mags work in it, if any.
Also, is there anyone that makes wood grips for them, or even rubber grips that are different than the pachmeyers?

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Wood grips: http://www.hoguestore.com/index.php?...ex&cPath=22_40

I imagine that Hogue makes rubber grips, but Pachmayr Presentations (I assume that's what's on there) are pretty good.

You'll want fresh springs (recoil, magazine, perhaps firing pin, etc.) in there. Check Wolff for replacements. I wouldn't bother with after-market magazines. Buy S&W: http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct...tNumber=618689

You can check at Numrich for parts as the need comes up: http://www.e-gunparts.com/productsch...Model=1980z659

ETA: There were both round and squared-off trigger guards on these pistols. Be sure when holster shopping sight unseen that you know which it is and what you (obviously) need. Check out this page to get an idea of what other holster designations might fit your pistol.

Many of S&W's, '59 Series' pistols use interchangeable parts. It's correct that some of the triggerguards are square; and some are not. I use either a Galco, 'JAX' or a, 'Yaqui Slide' in order to carry mine.
