Need some suggestions, Tired of Verizon

I am so sick of Verizon, the short version:

We have had Verizon for over 10 years now and NEVER have used long distance (we have a service or that) Well, they "intercepted" an international call and charged me 43.90 for a 10 min. call. That same call normally costs me .31 CENTS!! Well, I called and they were quite annoyed that I would want my money back and agreed that YES we never have in the past used long distance. I cannot say for a fact that the call was NOT made directly through Verizon, but they won't even lower the charge to regular customer rates. I MUST pay the highest fee!

Well, I am looking for internet service and cell service. Who's the best and gets the best reception. Verizon cuts out in the Mts but some people have service.

I have been using Nextel International Unlimited service for 7 years now. I will vouch for the fact that my Nextel phone is the best paperweight I have ever owned, bar none !! I have tried it in several differnet countries and about 42-43 states, and it definitely is a great paperweight. Not much use as a communication device, but boy will it ever hold paper down!!
