Dinner w/Lisa & a Sig (Episode 6)
Good evening.
In this episode of Dinner w/Lisa and a Sig we have Lisa's very fine Sig Sauer P229 Two-Tone pistol chambered in its classic .40 S&W cartridge.
This P229 Two-Tone is a full-sized .40 S&W DA/SA (double action/single action) pistol with a double stack magazine capable of holding 10 cartridges making the P229's overall ordnance capacity 10 + 1. Manufactured in February 1996 and purchased by me on 5 May 1997, the magazines accompanying this P229 were reduced from their normal capacity of 12 rounds for the .357 Sig and .40 S&W cartridge to the idiotic assault weapons ban maximum magazine capacity of ten rounds through the insertion of a large plastic plug on the bottom of the magazine. The slide on the P229 is made from machined stainless steel.
Now, before anyone gets bent out of shape over succotash again, I ran out of all of my other vegetables so there wasn't any choice but succotash on this evening's dinner menu. I promise a different vegetable in the next episode.
And, now, on to a T-bone steak with a sexy side of Sig...
Figure 1. Oven-broiled-to-perfection (it's raining here so no barbecue) T-bone steak, B&M brand baked beans and a generous portion of butter-smothered-succotash by Lisa; water and ice by Brita; P229 Two-Tone by Sig Sauer and white 100% cotton gloves by Sally Beauty Supply.
Figure 2. Close-up of awesome P229 Two-Tone protecting me while I eat my delicious T-bone steak and sides. Scrumptious!
Oh, sorry about the green toothpick, again. I was too hungry to fool with it. I need to snack before dinner so I won't be too hungry to stage these photo shoots more meticulously. LOL

Very nice earlier example of a P229 TT. Does the barrel have the serial number on it??
T-bones are great!! (even with succotash )

Re: Dinner w/Lisa & a Sig (Episode 6)
Only the Sigs assembled in Germany have the date proofs on them. All of the P229's were assembled here in the US. They were the first Sig to use the milled slide to accommodate the higher pressures of the 40S&W round. Sig was the last big manufacturer to come out with a pistol chambered in .40S&W because they had to redesign their slides from the stamped folded slide, to the milled slide so they'd hold up.
The earlier P229's had the guns' serial number stamped on the barrel as well as the frame. Yours was probably made right near the time Sig stopped doing that.
Most of the older (pre-1997) Sigs had the guns' serial number stamped on the barrel, but nothing is gospel.
Again - that gun of yours gun is very, very nice!Last edited by 1blindref; September 12th, 2009 at 05:30 PM.
