N.E. PA Open Carry "Meet-&-Greet". Interest?

Depending on how much we want to be noticed, we could always just go window shopping in the downtown area, and then maybe go and eat at a resteraunt that we confirm is firearm friendly.

Well I'm game for a M&G in the Scranton area. I have been gradually sticking my toes in the open carry pool.

So far just a few furtive glances from Scranton P.D. as I strolled around downtown snapping pics of architectural interesting buildings.

I tried to OC at the Steamtown Mall, the mall ninjas were on me quicker than flies on a cow turd.

How many here from the Scrn/W.B. area ?

I'm sorry I haven't followed up on this yet.
I have been so incredibly busy. I was away for most of the month of June.

If someone wants to pick up on the setting a date and filtering peoples contact info and such feel free. I would love to see a meet-up happen in the NEPA area.

i completely understand, i was a away a lot too, and when i came back onto the forums i noticed u were working on the pamphlet thing(which i will be printing out and handing out to people).

I just wanted to see if more people would be interested before a date was set and such, and it is a little hard to have this be noticed on the 2nd or 3rd page that it was on-lol

scranton pd won't give you too much of a hassle. they might stop you and ask to see your permit, but that's about it. and as far as carrying in the steamtown mall, they have no policy regarding it. in other words, they have no rules against it. they do have rukes against incendiary devices and fireworks, and taking photos of storefronts, so careful where you point those cameras...


scranton cops are pretty cool about guns. i've been questioned twice about my gun (my shirt rode up or was blown by the breeze), and both times they were ultra friendly. also, me and my dad were in walmart a few years back, and he was carrying a colt defender SOB style. he squatted to check a price on something, annd the butt (of the gun) was exposed. a dickson city cop happened to by right behind us and he went "ahem". my dad got super embarrassed, and went for his wallet to show his permit, but the officer said "don't worry about it," and went on his way.

If there were a get together in Scranton/Wilkes-barre I would try to attend. It sounds interesting even though I don't OC.

Well once while helping a friend load stuff from the self storage place on Main St in Taylor into a rental truck I took off my overshirt because I didn't want to get it dirty. I was not visible from the street & only 2 other people,also self store customers saw me.

I'll watch this thread for further developments. If I carry & I may not,it will be covered.

This open carry thing is like becoming a nudist. I almost feel naked if my piece is exposed.

I have nothing against OCers....or nudists for that matter. I just can't do it. But I would still like to attend as we are all gun/2nd adm people.
