Re: What happens when your neighbors are anti-gun???
i clean the ebr's on the back porch. that tends to send them scurring like coach roaches. apparently their absolut fear of them over powers their urge to say something to me about them.
it's only metal, we can out think it....

Re: What happens when your neighbors are anti-gun???
Where I live, every possible neighbor would be anti-gun. In a city where 77% of all registered voters are registered Democrat, and all mayoral candidates are reliably anti-gun, I know without even having to ask that my liberal neighbors will be anti-gun.
Here, privacy and discretion are what works. Since our local mailman routinely screws up and switches mail, I have a PMB where anything even remotely gun related (gear, ammo, periodicals) gets mailed.
I have discrete bags for range trips, etc. Rifle cases get put into a larger, nondescript duffel bag.

Re: What happens when your neighbors are anti-gun???
at mt old place i had antigun neighbors...they were "Lawn-Guylanders" from NY.
almost EVERY time they saw me on the back porch cleaning stuff after a trip to teh range, a cop would show up.
Especially if the neighbors kids from right next door (a gun/hunting friendly home) were over helping, or observing.
After 5+ times of this, the cops, who i knew well, would just peek around the back, we'd talk about whats up, and talk about guns a bit, then he'd go tell the NooYawkas that guns are legal in this state, and pretty much, unless they SEE me shoot someone, STOP CALLING US.
I'd either get a lecture from the wife, or the stinkeye from the husband if they happened to be walking buy as i was loading/unloading for a range trip.
after the third lecture, kind as i might have tried to be in the past, the response was "Just keep walking b*tch"

I think it was Cheech & Chong that had the song "Fu@k the neighbors!" That is pretty much where I stand on the issue.

Re: What happens when your neighbors are anti-gun???
I pretty much don't care what the neighbors think. After a range trip, I sit on the back porch and clean my guns. I don't hide it nor do I feel as if I need to make excuses. I don't flaunt it or try to make converts either. Ben Franklin (I think) said 'strong fences make for good neighbors'. He was a wise man.

I have a fenced in backyard, and WW2 vets on either side of me. No outdoor cleaning or anti gun problems here.
