DELCO, still gettin' it wrong (LTCF)
My wife lost her purse awhile back, in it was her LTCF, among other things. Long story short, the DELCO Sheriff made her go thru the whole process over again to get a "new" one. More time, more money the whole shebang, PLUS she had to include a notarized letter that she lost the first one.
Anyway, she gets her approval letter and it STILL contains the same misinformation (as can be seen below) that was brought to their attention a year ago. From calling the LTCF a permit to saying it's for carrying a concealed firearm to stating it's only good in Pennsylvania, oh and by the way, the Sheriff also advises you to only carry a firearm when situations and/or activities require it. I wish I had his crystal ball.
The only thing this Sheriff has done that is remotely close to good is offer two days a month, one with extended hours and a Saturday, to make it a tad easier to actually get your LTCF in your possession, since he also says a LTCF may not be mailed.

Wow, constant carrying is to be avoided... same to you Mr. LEO.
Here is what was missing in the letter:
We will use stimulus money to invent a time machine to determine when the situation will arise for common citizens to carry firearms. After that has been accomplished and the time date and location is determined where you will need a firearm, you will not be permitted to go there.

There are a couple typos in that "suggestion" letter that I caught on a quick read:
1. "seperate" should be separate
2. "judgement" should be judgment

Re: DELCO, still gettin' it wrong (LTCF)
Well the permit IS only good in the state of PA.
Other states happen to recognize it. The State of Pa can't issue something to a PA resident that forces NJ or DE to accept it. The other 'good' states took it upon themselves to recognize each others statewide permits.
Splitting hairs, but it is correct.

Not really, the word ONLY should be replaced with "and any reciprocating states listed on the Pa Attorney General's web site" since under current law there are many.
The point is this Sheriff likes to discourage having a LTCF at all. I mean some counties issue on the spot. This guy gets jump you through every hoop he can. My wife he a valid LTCF, when she lost her purse all he had to do was look up the expiration date and issue another, like some counties do, but DELCO made her apply like she never had one, another $46 bucks yada yada yada.

I really hate the phrase "common sense dictates..." Anti-gunners always pull that line.
If I ever write a book regarding gun control, it will be entitled "Common Sense Dictates."
