    Default Broadband speeds and Location

So instead of adding to the verizon sucks thread which i am in agreeance with. i wanted to start a new thread about what speeds people get. where they get them and who there provider is..

at my officewe have dsl through verizon and last friday i went to www.speedtest.net and checked my speeds at my office and i was getting
.71mb/s download .09mb/s upload with a 83ms piing. so we bought a new modem and had to get our line switched over to the new adsl2+ which the person incharge told me i woul be getting atleast 5mb/s if i upgraded so i was like "hell yeah upgrade my dsl line. we didnt get internet back till wednesday afternoon. and guess what my new speeds are...... .63mb/s down and .09 upload they said in my area i cannot get any fast than basically dialup at my officesplit between 5 people..... i logged on remotely onto my home computer with comcast and i was getting. 18.79 download and 2.4 upload

    try speedtest

the max DL speed you would get from that 768kbps dsl is 0.75mbps. So you aren't that far off. Also that .75mbps is only 0.09375 Mega Bytes per second. That is a very slow connection now a days.
