These bastards in Philadelphia took 11 WEEKS to issue my LTCF. 11 weeks. And three days. I applied in early April and just today received my approval letter. And here's a joy - the address in the letter is wrong - and your PADL must match their address. Hopefully I can talk my way out of this one.

The timing also doubley screws me - I start school next week and it is solid 8-5 all day every day. I'll have to take a fast taxi ride during lunch.....

Was this an initial application or a renewal?

If they take 11 weeks for my RENEWAL, I'm truly screwed, since they wont even take a renewal until 60 days before expiration.

I believe State Law only allows them 45 days to process.
So, what happens if you don't get approved in 45 days...is your old license extended?

That would be a good question for our elected representatives, wouldn't it?

If I'm not mistaken the grace period is 6 months, and you can reapply up to 60 days beforehand.

It took me 10 weeks to get my CCW in Philadelphia. It probably would have taken 11 but I went in to check the status and they had the letter waiting to be put in the mail.

If it took 11 weeks I would suggest you send a letter and complain to the State AG. I don't know if it will do any good but it seems clear to me they are in violation of the law. In the letter I would ask if there is any legal civil recourse. Perhaps if we can shpw that in some areas this foot dragging is systemic we can get the legislature to put some teeth in the law. If the CLEO in Philly finds himself a defendant in court a few times it might effect an attitute adjustment.

I work with a resident of Philly that had to get a lawyer to force the authorities to give him a permit to carry.

He applied the same time the rest of us did. We live Delaware County and were issued our permits in the subscribed time.

He got tired of being ignored on the phone when he called to inquire about his license. He was held on hold a couple of times for so long that he lost the connection. He was never given a reason for the delay. He talked to a couple of people that he claims that did not speak understandable English.

It cost him 600 bucks for the lawyer.

About the only thing good about living in Philly is, it ain't in Jersey.
