Any thoughts on a "PAFOA Convention?"

You know... an actual, three-day-weekend-long "Convention:" Part Gun Show, part Meet-and-Greet, part Trade Show, part OC Dinner. I'm thinking about a convention center with a gun show/trade show on the main floor, panel discussions in Conference Room A, "How-To" seminars in Conference Room B and dinner in the Banquet Hall. Mix in a Range Day on Saturday afternoon and a "Shotgun Start" Golf Outing on Sunday morning, sprinkle in some guest speakers and a few door prizes. You know the drill.

This idea has been rattling around n my head for a few days... and I'm curious to know if we're anywhere near that point in our ascent yet. Maybe it's a bad idea. Maybe we're just too small an organization right now. Or maybe it's time to start talking to the Events Planner from one of those brand-spanking-new casinos of ours?

Sounds like a great idea. Count me in (assuming it is near the center or farther east of the state)... I'm not sure exactly where raccoon city is. lol. I don't think a casino would be the best place to hold a PAFOA event since firearms are not permitted in the casinos.

I think someone was trying to plan something like this last year.

How about something like hosting a gun show? Have some sales reps there, to show their wares.

This was discussed about a year or so ago. The list of issues which had to be addressed in order to ensure success was huge, there would be a tremendous amount of money that would be needed up front, and having enough participation to cover the costs would be a gamble at best.

i think its a great idea.... sift the rough edges down and I think we might get something... keep floating out ideas and see if anyone on here knows anything or can help you out...

Find a BIG gun show at a hotel and we get a couple of rooms for our stuff at the same time.

Make it a large scale meet-n-greet to start and see how it goes.

This is one of those things that I would absolutely 100% love to do, in 5 years maybe.

The reality is the organization has a lot of growing to do before we can pull this sort of thing off right.

I like that... start small and build our way up... With time we will be more known and hell its great exposure to new people in the gun world...
